This contractor web design was created for a company that builds highways and other major construction projects. For that reason, all of their clients are all municipalities and the Federal Government.

The website was created many years ago and it used Flash animation to show a line drawing that turns into a bridge. However, today most websites don’t use Flash anymore. Interestingly, our client told us that people working in municipalities usually have old computers so it didn’t matter. Consequently, they wanted something dramatic on the home page that would attract attention using Flash. Additionally, the bridge on the home page of the website is one that they actually built. For that reason, they sent us the photo of the bridge and we created the animation based on that image.
CMS Web Design
When we made this website it was known as a database driven website. However, today everyone refers to this type of website as a CMS web design. Also, it can be called a Content Management System website.
The main feature of a CMS website is that there is a backend where the owner of the site can log in with a user id and password. As a result, they can make changes to the website. Additionally, everyone likes the idea of being able to easily update and maintain their website. Plus, nobody wants to pay us to do simple updates. Also, nobody wants to have to read a book of instructions on how to make website updates. For that reason, we made sure that our custom programmed system is easy to use.

Now they are easily able to feature pictures of parks, bridges, dams, and highways that they have built. We have been in the web design business since 1995 and in the beginning, websites were very basic. Consequently, any time someone wanted the slightest change to their site they had to hire a programmer. Happily, now every website we make has an easy to use CMS.
