Website Makeover

A website makeover can help to make it look like you are not stuck in the past. A big plus is that people like to do business with people that keep up with the changing times. We made the original website for this client more than 10 years ago. Since part of his business depends on hurricanes he wanted the little hurricane symbol to follow the mouse cursor around. Maybe it was a cute idea back then and today it just doesn’t work at all on tablets and smartphones. When we originally made this website it would fill the entire screen. We added the left and right margins for people that might buy newer, higher resolution monitors. Today that old website didn’t take up very much of the monitor at all. We decided to use WordPress as the platform because there is no complex programming needed for this website. We are just giving information online about the business. In a way, this website is like a brochure that you read on a computer, tablet or phone. By using WordPress the owner will be easily able to update the website.

Here is what the old site looked like and back in those days this was considered to be a very nice website. It was made using basic HTML programming and there was no way the owner could make updates to the website on his own. Any little change would have required the help of a programmer or designer or both. Now we only make websites like WordPress or other platforms that allow the website owner to make any updates necessary. When we have a client with more complex needs it is never a problem because we began as custom web developers. Since 1995 we have helped business owners with all types of web design projects.
