We used WordPress to give the client an easy to use Content Management System. Additionally, they also wanted a video background web design because they are in the business of making videos. Lately this style of web design is popular with a lot of businesses and usually, they will have some stock video playing in the background. In this case, we used a behind the scenes video they created just for this purpose.

Fast Loading Website

Running a video background can create a new problem in which the website runs very slowly. Videos are big files and this particular one is about 1GB. As a result, if ten people view the website at the same time then 10GB of bandwidth is consumed. Additionally, most hosting providers will charge extra for consuming such a large amount of bandwidth. Plus, an extra 10GB of bandwidth would come from only ten visitors to the website. Consequently, 10GB in one day would amount to about 300GB in a month. Additionally, there are plenty of websites that won’t even use 1GB in an entire month.

The problem is compounded because they are in the business of making videos.  Plus, their clients want to use these videos on their websites. What’s more, if one person views 10 videos then each person may generate 10GB of bandwidth to the website which would slow it down tremendously. Consequently, we can run videos from another server so that we don’t run into a bandwidth issue.

We make web videos for our clients and there are two different options. We can make a video background web design like this one. The other option is a video that is on a page with a play button to start the video. Additionally, if it is a video background web design then we suggest not having sound. Of course, this is always up to our client to decide. The reason we prefer no sound is that someone may be at work when they decide to view the website and then sound starts playing. Consequently, they might close the website before their boss sees that they aren’t working. Conversely, if it is a video on a page with a play button to start the video then we always include sound. We include sound on those because the person viewing the website can decide to play the video or not.
