We created The Miami Herald’s Rewards website and kept it updated with coupons and buy one get one offers. The Rewards website required a login which was based upon their list of current subscribers. If you canceled your newspaper subscription then you’d no longer have access to the Rewards website. We also created the monthly newsletters that went out to thousands of subscribers. Additionally when people would cancel their subscription they would get an email that we created giving them some type of offer to consider subscribing again.
We created a desktop widget that someone could click and it would open the digital version of the newspaper. This widget stored the subscriber’s login information so that they wouldn’t need to enter the information again each day. If the subscriber canceled their service the widget would no longer give them access to the digital edition.
